ABOUT ME

A little bit about My Blooming Brain

MY BLOOMING BRAIN was born after I survived a life-threatening ruptured brain ANEURYSM and subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) in MAY 2017.

I have created this blog to share my story and to provide support to anyone who has either had a brain aneurysm, or been affected by a family member or friend who is in recovery.

Both myself and my immediate family hadn’t heard of the condition, let alone know what a brain aneursym was until it was discovered that I had one.

Therefore my ultimate mission is to raise awareness of this life-threatening condition to help save lives, especially here in the UK where aneurysm awareness appears to be much lower than in the US.

“My recovery has been incredibly challenging and far from a smooth ride. It has been filled with many realisations and a greater appreciation for the simple things in life.”

I often refer to myself as having a spiritual awakening, after all, it’s near impossible to have gone through what I have and not change in some way.

I have learned so much about myself and now have a clearer understanding of my definition of happiness. As well as a deeper understanding of the art of mindfulness, and how the power of gratitude and random acts of kindness can transform my mindset and get me through each day.

In my blog posts I will share my story and my approach to dealing with the various challenges I have been faced with during my recovery, along with some useful hints and tips.

I’m a very positive person and this is reflected in my outlook towards life. However I do not want to sugar coat what I’ve been through. There’s no doubt that what I have been through is a massive deal and it will remain with me for the rest of my life!

At the same time I will not allow myself to be defined by my brain aneurysm and you will see this reflected in my blog posts, where I’ll write about other aspects of my life and personal interests.

I am more than my brain aneurysm and I am alive for a reason. So I’m going to live my life to the fullest and turn such a catastrophic situation into a positive by sprinkling my magic, postive energy, love and light into the world through the birth of the My Blooming Brain blog.
